mRNA the innovation behind Pfizer and Moderna vaccines

Updated: Dec 7, 2020

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is a pivotal molecule of life, involved in almost all aspects of cell biology.

The last decade has seen improvements in the delivery of a new class of mRNA drugs. In molecular biology an mRNA, whose lifetimes range from several minutes to days, is a sequence that can cause a cell to make a protein, which in turn could directly treat a disease or could function as a vaccine.

Preclinical investigation is now underway in the field of therapeutic cancer vaccination. Read more ...
