Chelsea Flower Show garden to donate proceeds to Heads Together

May 26, 2017

For The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, April seemed to be the month of creating mental health awareness. The three attended the London Virgin Money Marathon, posted several videos on mental health awareness, got personal with their mental health experiences through interviews and a video, and reached out to comfort others; all for their Heads Together campaign.

Although the campaign is only in the UK, it went global with social media opening up and reaching out on the day of the marathon, particularly with royal watchers. Now, proceeds from a particular garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show will be donated to Heads Together.

Ian Price is the designer of the Mind Trap garden to be featured at the show, which will be open to the public from 23-27 May. It is a physical manifestation of what depression can look like to those who suffer from this mental illness. The garden was supported by the Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health and cost £45,000 to create. Proceeds from the sale of its plant at the close of the show will be donated to Heads Together.
