Canada dedicates the Great Bear Rainforest to The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy, a network of forest conservation initiatives throughout the 53 nations of the Commonwealth. The Great Bear Rainforest (almost the size of Ireland) is home to a quarter of the earth’s temperate rainforest and 26 separate First Nations. It is also the only place in the world where the Kermode, or Spirit, Bear is found.
