ALMOST HERE: Saturday, 11 August, RCS OTTAWA Garden Party Social

The Garden Party will be catered and sun gazebos will be on the lawn. In event of rain, will have made arrangements to hold the party indoors.

Join us again for our annual lovely summer afternoon by the Rideau River … on the lawns of the residence of our former President Dr. Peter Meincke, and, Sue Williams. Come and enjoy wonderful food (sandwiches, sliders, strawberry shortcake, other desserts, High Tea, etc.) while having a stroll down to the water's edge, play a lawn game, and win a prize or sit under a shaded gazebo! Everyone will win a prize!!

Join us in toasting Canada and the importance we have played in the Commonwealth. You are invited to bring family and friends. We're putting on the kettle and Earl Grey is providing the tea! Or, have a refreshing glass of Pimm’s punch.

Hats and gloves not required, BUT, remember that hat you always liked, now languishing at the back of your cupboard – it could be old it could be new – wear it on the 11th and bring back the ``day of the hat``! Men's top hats, bowlers and straws would be great too, or, creations of your own. Get a free raffle ticket and purchase more for good luck and receive a souvenir to remember the day.

Register now through EventBrite (https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/rcs-ottawa-garden-party-on-the-rideau-tickets-47086787850) or email: president@rcs-ottawa.ca or call: 613-600-0190.

Tickets are $25 per person for members or $30 for non-members. Children under 12 at no charge. (Advance registration required for catering purposes.) Net proceeds to the RCS Charity Education Fund.

Directions to the lovely Meincke home and gardens are very simple and direct: Find your way to Riverside Drive and Hunt Cub Road. Cross Hunt Club going south and continue to the first set of lights, turn right onto River Road and continue straight for 11 km. (about 12 to 15 minutes). Look for the Commonwealth Flag on the right side of the road - 1236 River Road, Manotick.
