OTTAWA—The theme of this year’s Commonwealth Day is “An Inclusive Commonwealth.” In 1931, Canada joined this association that today includes 53 countries. Its vision is to create and sustain a Commonwealth that is mutually respectful, resilient, peaceful and prosperous and that cherishes quality, diversity and shared values. As The Queen’s representative in Canada, I am proud that our country is continuously looking for opportunities to include everyone, to celebrate our rich diversity and to reinforce the vision espoused by the countries that make up the Commonwealth.
