The Queen and members of The Royal Family “delighted at the news” of royal birth


The Queen and members of The Royal Family are “delighted” at the news that the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a son.

The Duchess, who was admitted to St Mary’s Hospital at 6am on Monday, safely gave birth to the fifth-in-line to the throne at 11:01.

In a statement, Kensington Palace said: “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
