Rethinking everything, almost two months after businesses in the UK started reopening, just 17% of office workers had made it back to the office and many industries have embraced work from anywhere (54% of CFOs said they wanted to make telecommuting permanent in this June survey). This comes at a high price for local businesses, jobs and communities. There will be a number of people for whom this will be the last job they have, and waves of early retirement are really bad for the labor market.
